Read Synopsis:

In ancient China, kingdom of Yan grapple for ultimate reign with other kingdom. On a battlefield, a dying king commands his daughter, Princess Fei-Er (Kelly Chen) to take the helm and defend their kingdom with help from general Xue-Hu (Donnie Yen). Fei-Er's cousin, Wu Ba (Guo Xiao-Dong) also has his eyes on the throne and sends out assassins to kill the princess. A mysterious man named Duan Lan-Quan (Leon Lai) manages to save Fei-Er from the grisly fate and they fall in love. Fei-Er must choose between following her dreams to elope with Duan and submitting to her duty to defend her kingdom.

I like watching war movie with some dose of romance, intrigue and thriller. This movie provides a good mix of intensity of fierce battles and sweetness of romance. The three main actors did a pretty good except Donnie still falls short when it comes to romance. He undoubtedly need to learn from Leon in that department.

The battle scenes are not the focus of the movie which is why I tend to think of it to belong to drama genre instead of action. Donnie, as always, looks invigorated to kick the enemy's butts.

Conclusion :

It's a good movie with blockbuster actors. The chemistry between Leon and Kelly is great. Donnie still can not score on romance acting but he really delivers when it comes to action.
